Management Team

David O'Neil, CEO/FounderDavid O’Neil, CEO / Founder: David is CEO and founder of Brynn Grey and oversees visioning, entitlements and financing. David founded the company in 1994 and has been developing traditional neighborhoods in Summit County since 1999. Most recently, he is the developer of the Whole Foods Market/Basecamp in Frisco, Colorado. David is also a member of the Colorado Bar and has practiced land use and real estate law. As General Counsel for a national real estate investment, development and management firm, David has been involved in real estate development in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Maryland and Tennessee; projects including residential development, manufactured housing and marina acquisition / permitting. David was founder of Peak One Neighborhood, LLC, Wellington Neighborhood, LLC and Traditional Neighborhood Builders, Inc. in Summit County, Colorado. Previously, David was a partner in Eighth & Pearl, LLC, Developer of the Eighth & Pearl Shops and Residences in Boulder. Awards include: EPA National Award for Smart Growth Achievement; Metropolitan Homes Design 100; Sunset Magazine Merit Award; and, Congress of New Urbanism Charter Award. David has spoken on housing and public/private partnerships at numerous conferences, including Colorado’s Housing NOW! Conference, APA National Conference, and Greenbuild National Conference. David currently resides in the Wellington Neighborhood and has two children, one a graduate student at UVA, and one working at the Aspen Institute in Washington DC.

Michael Gardner, Chief Operating OfficerMichael Gardner, Chief Operating Officer: Michael Gardner has recently joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. He brings to the company a background in startups and managing a variety of businesses. Michael was born and raised in the England and attended early school in England and Scotland. After leaving school, Michael moved to Nairobi, Kenya where he was involved in the startup of a plastics manufacturing business called Kentainers Ltd. As Michael had received his aircraft and helicopter pilot licenses when he was seventeen, he flew extensively in East Africa during his time there. After two years in Africa, Michael returned to London where he trained at the Oxford Air Training Center and British Airways Training School, graduating with a Commercial and Airline Transport License. After his training, Michael moved to France to work for a Cessna Aircraft dealer as a sales and demonstration pilot. His work took him to all parts of Europe and North Africa and well as experience with trans-Atlantic ferry flights and he became fluent in French. Following his stint in aviation, Michael was a co-founder of the Carradon Group Ltd., based in London, in conjunction with an investment group from the Middle East. The company had offices in Cairo and Riyadh and focused on forming joint ventures partnerships that combined European technical know how with Middle Eastern venture capital, to take advantage of the fast developing demand for food distribution systems and the import/export trade. In 1982, Michael moved to San Francisco, and earned a BA and Master in Information systems at Golden Gate University. After graduating, Michael moved to Telluride, Colorado where he co-founded Telluride Resort Accommodations, a resort property management business. Michael was responsible for the company’s IT and overseeing the running of the day-to-day operations with his partners. The company grew through a series of mergers and acquisitions to manage over four hundred condominium units and private homes. After selling the business, Michael returned to aviation and started an aircraft fractional ownership program and air charter business in Telluride. The business operated both turbo-prop and jet aircraft flying clients to the resort from all over the US and Canada. Before joining Brynn Grey Partners, Michael took a one-year sabbatical and moved to Switzerland with his wife, Jackie and daughter, Camilla. Camilla spent her tenth grade at the American school in Lugano, Switzerland. Michael and his family live full-time in Telluride.

Dan McCreary, Vice President Construction and DevelopmentDan McCrerey, Vice President Construction and Development: Dan is Vice President of Brynn Grey and is responsible for all development activities and construction. Dan has worked with Brynn Grey since 1999. In addition, Dan serves as President of Traditional Neighborhood Builders, Inc. and has over 22 years Summit County / high altitude construction experience, positions including: carpenter, superintendent, estimator, and construction manager. His most recent project is managing the construction of 280 homes in the Wellington Neighborhood, Breckenridge, Colorado. As neighborhood project manager during the last ten years, he has overseen 18 primary subcontractors with over 100 employees and instituted a web based project management intranet to facilitate project coordination and customer warranty claims. Previously, as a Real Estate Developer and General Contractor, Mr. McCrerey has built entry level housing for sale and rent, his most recent projects being construction of the Summit County Housing Authority’s Ophir Mountain Townhouses, 18 units, and Glen Cove at Lake Dillon homes, 37 units. Additional Summit County projects where Mr. McCrerey designed, developed or project managed, include: Westview at Willow Grove, Silverthorne (subdivision); Creekside Estates, Frisco (subdivision); Grey Fox, Summit Cove (subdivision); Royal Alpine Rental Housing, Frisco (design / build); and Willow Grove (subdivision). Mr. McCrerey is a pioneer in the area of shallow frost protected foundation systems and in this regard was a speaker at the National Association of Home Builders convention, Houston, 1995. Mr. McCrerey has completed NAHB Graduate Master Builder classes in scheduling, estimating, project management and building codes. Mr. McCrerey graduated from Punahou School, Honolulu 1972, obtained an occupational certificate in Ski Area Technology from Colorado Mountain College 1973 and graduated from Western State College BS Business Administration 1978. Mr. McCrerey and his wife Roberta have 14 year old daughter and an 18 year old son. They have lived in Frisco, Colorado for over twenty years.

kate-cKate Clement, Realtor, GRI, New Home Sales Professional: Director of Marketing, Sales and Operations: Kate oversees marketing, sales and operations for the Brynn Grey Team; including most recent projects – the Peak One and Wellington Neighborhoods, and the Whole Foods Frisco / Basecamp project. She has been with Brynn Grey since 2011. Kate is responsible for coordinating construction schedules, financing, the sales / leasing process, agency liaison, and broker relations. In addition, Kate oversees on-site sales & marketing including the evolution and execution of all marketing campaigns, social media, website, video, signage, and print materials. Kate also assists our residential buyers through the sales process from start to finish with her incredible customer service. In 2000, Kate graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, then moved to Colorado a few months later. After obtaining her Real Estate Brokers License in 2002, Mrs. Clement began building her real estate career and passion with Markel Homes Construction Company in Boulder. In 2011, Mrs. Clement was recruited to become a part of the Brynn Grey team and relocated to Summit County. Mrs. Clement is an avid mountain biker & skier, and spends her free time exploring the mountains with her husband, adventurous two boys, and their playful Griffon, Oskar.

Carol March, FinanceCarol March, Director of Finance: Carol March is Director of Finance and oversees all the Brynn Grey company’s finances, accounting and banking relationships. Carol has worked with Brynn Grey since June, 2000. A Certified Public Accountant specializing in small business, Carol has been intricately involved in the Boulder business environment since 1974 when she and her husband, Tim, bought a printing company that was an offshoot from the Boulder Daily Camera. They re-named it and ran March Press, a high-end commercial printing company, from 1974 – 1994 at which point they sold their interest to their partners. Carol then returned to CU, earning her accounting degree along with a master’s in taxation. She specializes in small business accounting as well as individual and small business taxation. Carol and her husband have lived in Boulder for 45 years and have 3 adult children, ages 31, 26 & 23.

Courtney Kenady, Project ManagerCourtney Kenady, Project Manager:  Courtney is Manager of Poplar Wellington, LLC and has worked with Brynn Grey since 1999.  She is responsible for coordinating various relationships between Poplar Wellington, LLC, potential buyers, local governments, the Summit County Real Estate Community, media groups, and Traditional Neighborhood Builders. In addition, Ms. Kenady oversees onsite sales & marketing including scheduled improvements, signage, events and print materials as well as assists residential buyers through the sales process. She is responsible for the evolution and execution of the website, social media, contact requests, marketing materials, and various print & radio advertising. In 1991, Ms. Kenady graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelors of Science in Journalism then moved to Summit County in 1992. After working various positions in the County, Ms. Kenady graduated with her Colorado Real Estate Broker Associates License in 1997. Ms. Kenady has two daughters ages 18 and 13.

Melissa Sherburne, Project ManagerMelissa Sherburne, Director of Acquisitions: Melissa is responsible for managing business development, entitlements, and planning for Brynn Grey. She has worked as a consultant, specializing in mountain communities, since 2005. With clients in the public and private sector, Melissa’s work in places like Steamboat Springs, Aspen, Ridgway, Gypsum, Nederland, and Frisco has been recognized by the American Planning Association (APA) and Housing Colorado with awards for excellence in sustainability, innovation, and collaborative partnerships. Melissa has a Bachelor’s in Environmental Policy and Geography from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s of Environmental Management from Duke University. Before joining Brynn Grey in 2014, Melissa was with consulting firms EDAW/AECOM and SE Group. Melissa is a member of the Resort, Entertainment, Tourism and Leisure Council with the Colorado Chapter of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), is an accredited member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), is a LEED-Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council, and is Chairwoman of the Frisco Planning Commission. Melissa has spoken at APA, ULI, and Housing Colorado conferences and events. Melissa lives in Peak One Neighborhood in Frisco with her husband and two young children. In her free time she loves being outside with her family, playing tennis, and traveling to new places.

Tom Lyon is Principal and founder of Wolff Lyon Architects. Originally founded in the early 1980’s, the firm has evolved from the original design-build firm to a full-service architectural, urban design and development consulting firm based in Boulder, Colorado. Wolff Lyon’s projects include: Eighth and Pearl, a mixed-use retail/office and residential project in downtown Boulder; numerous affordable housing neighborhoods including the Wellington Neighborhood and Peak One Neighborhood in Summit County; the Poplar Community and Northern Lights at the Holiday Neighborhood in Boulder; and the Sachem Community at Dartmouth College.Tom has had a long term involvement with the redevelopment of Stapleton Airport. This began with the creation of the Stapleton Design book and continues today with his membership on the Design Review Committee. The firm has been recognized with many awards including: Congress of New Urbanism Charter Award; EPA National Award for Smart Growth Achievement; National Assoc. of Home Builders 2008 Green Development Project of the Year Award for Single Family; NAHRO 2002 Award of Excellence; ULI Award of Excellence 2007; 2005 AIA/HUD Secretary’s Award for mixed-use/mixed-income Development.
