2020 EAGLE AWARD WINNER: Lincoln Park at the Wellington Neighborhood

AUGUST 19TH 2020 – BRECKENRIDGE, CO.

At Brynn Grey Partners, it is our mission to serve, connect, and create place. In our experience, a successful project starts with getting the right people on the bus and letting innovation fuel the process. On July 30th, via a virtual ceremony attended by hundreds of industry professionals, Brynn Grey Partners was selected to receive the Housing Colorado 2020 Eagle Award recognizing the extraordinary accomplishments of Lincoln Park at the Wellington Neighborhood. The award honors individuals, agencies, projects, and programs that soar to new heights in their work to ensure safe, fair, affordable housing for all in Colorado. As recipients of the Housing Colorado 2016 Eagle Award for Peak One Neighborhood, we are thrilled to be recognized yet again for our efforts championing this cause. Accomplishments as momentous as these would not be possible without our incredible project partners and as such we’d be remiss if we didn’t take the time to thank our talented development team, Housing Colorado for the important work they do, and the Town of Breckenridge for their outstanding dedication to this public/private partnership.

It is especially in times such as these, that we are reminded of our commitment to innovation as part of the solution to the housing crisis in the high country. It would be impossible to talk about innovative housing solutions without going back to the project that started it all — the Wellington Neighborhood in 1999. By combining interests in remediation, open space, and affordable housing; a model for public/ private partnerships was created. The result was the development of a real locals’ neighborhood, home to over 325 local workers and their families. The Wellington Neighborhood went on to receive the EPA’s National Award for Smart Growth Achievement in 2002.

Our journey didn’t stop there. After beating out 17 firms, the Town of Frisco selected BGP to develop a choice parcel worth millions of dollars, now known as the Peak One Neighborhood. The success of this project is due to the time spent understanding concerns of project opponents, our exhaustive research on land use regulations, and alignment with the goals and priorities of the community. Born from this process was the “Frisco Look” design proposal, a compelling vision statement, comprehensive financial proformas, and creative financing mechanisms. Peak One is a hub for the dedicated Frisco workforce teaming with vibrancy and character.
